The show pelham has a loose top rein ring, the advantage of this is that unlike an ordinary pelham you do not immediately pull the bit backwards into the mouth. At 11mm in diameter the Hartwell mouthpiece is lightweight and a 1 1/4″ rise over the horses tongue in the centre.
